Description

Trends & Innovations Event is free and open to all exhibitors.

Trends & Innovations is a selection of food products launched on the market since April 2007, or prototypes of SIAL Montréal 2008 exhibitors.

Trends & Innovations Area is located at central area of the exhibition. This section presents the innovative products but also selected market trends of the North America and International markets.

1 - REGISTER YOUR PRODUCTS ON-LINE FOR FREE AND BECOME PART OF THE OFFICIAL TRENDS & INNOVATIONS SELECTION.

To take part in the operation, simply register your products through our on-line platform, by clicking HERE.


If your products are selectable*, you will receive a Trends & Innovations Selection – SIAL Montreal 2008 label that you can use in your promotional tools.

(*) IMPORTANT NOTICE: products must meet following criteria:

  • Product must be a food product
  • Product must be new (new proprieties brought to the consumer or distributor)
  • Product must have been launched on the market after April 2007 or must be in its launching phase

2 - GIVE YOUR NEW PRODUCTS A UNIQUE EXPOSURE FOR ONLY 650 $CAN.

Your products won't be left unnoticed! For only 650$CAN, you can take advantage of all the promotional tools the Trends & Innovations operation has to offer:

  • A dedicated window for your products in the Trends & Innovations area:
    • An area seen by all visitors, media and the inaugural procession
    • An identification of the location of your booth will be placed next to your product
  • A sign on your booth will indicate that you are part of the Trends & Innovations Selection – SIAL Montreal 2008
  • A special Trends & Innovations logo next to your company's name in the list of exhibitors on our website and in the catalogue of the show.
  • The right to access the “Trends & Innovations – SIAL Montreal 2008” official contest

3 - TAKE A CHANCE AND MAYBE WIN ONE OF THE TRENDS & INNOVATIONS - SIAL MONTRÉAL 2008 AWARDS.

This contest, organized in partnership with XTC, l'Actualité Alimentaire and the ITHQ brings an incredible exposure to your new products. Before the show, the jury of the contest will vote for the 10 best new products of the Trends & Innovations Selection.

If you win one of the 10 Trends & Innovations Awards - SIAL Montreal 2008, you will benefit from the following great advantages:

  • An advertisement, dedicated to the Trends & Innovations Awards, in the catalogue of the show will showcase your product and logo.
  • A special exposure of your window in the Trends & Innovations area.
  • A special exposure of your product during SIAL China (May 11-14, 2008) and SIAL in Paris (October 19-23, 2008)

The jury will then elect the Trends & Innovations Grand Award amongst the 10 finalists.

The Trends & Innovations contest is open only to participants who have paid the 650$CAN option.

Price

Participation in Trends & Innovations Event in the SIAL Montréal 2008 does not require any financial commitment on your part (other than not free promotional tools).
Trends & Innovations Event is free and open exclusively to all exhibitors.

Only products selected and present at the Trends & Innovations Area have an application fee of $ 650 CND (taxes en sus) per product for the presence in the window and services.

Conditions

Participants are companies that should be reported as an exhibitor at SIAL Montréal 2008, individually or on a stand, and they have the right to mandatory participation at the show.

If your product is intended for the market HRI Food Service, your product will be the subject of a special review panel with a specific, in this sector.

You can present several new products, in this case fill in a form of participation / statement for each product you wish to present.

If you have a product with multiple varieties products (or perfumes), not a single complete participation form and specify the alternatives available.

If within a range of products you have products that are very different from are another, use as many “cards” as needed.

Procedure

To fill your participation, click HERE to access to the web space Trends & Innovations.

Accessible with personal and confidential passwords, the same as in exhibitor space.

  • Enter your product line and download badge and photo.
  • You already can book your location in the exhibit space, please note that: seating is limited.
  • Your product passes in front of the panel of independent experts in innovation for selection.

Members of the Jury

The three stages of selection of the best innovation involve three types of jury:

  • A selection committee is composed of experts from the food industry (excluding…). The selection committee will judge the products for their innovative characters, and select products that can be presented in Trends & Innovations Area.

 

  • A selection board is composed of personalities of the food industry (journalist, chef, marketing,…). The jury will judge the products selected for their qualities apart from the organoleptic*2, and select the best innovations: the "Trends & Innovations Awards - SIAL Montreal 2008."

The jury members are a panel of North American famous figures in the food sector.

  • A jury for the best innovation is composed of future chef of the ITHQ. The jury taste the "Trends & Innovations Awards - SIAL Montréal 2008" and the product will select the winner, "Trends & Innovations Grand Award - SIAL Montreal 2008".
