Invitation Gala at the Canadien Agri-Food Trade

The Agri-Food Export Group Quebec-Canada is proud to announce the second edition of the Canadian Agrifood Export Gala. Join us and be part of this prestigious event !

The Gala, presented by National Bank, will be held on April 23 2008, during SIAL Montreal, which runs from April 23 to 25, 2008.

The Gala was created to give Canadian exporters, in the agricultural and/or food processing sector, an opportunity to promote their products and is one of the most prestigious events on the calendar.

The Gala recognizes creativity and excellence by paying tribute to the most deserving candidates from the past year, it also promotes economic growth in our sector of activity.

Canadian Exporter of the Year award, Business Category

Description

The Canadian Exporter of the Year, Business Category Award will be given to a company that has shown excellence in international food markets, through

  • its strategic export approach,
  • a significant breakthrough during the 2007 year,
  • an increase in sales over the last three years,
  • the marketing of innovative products

Finalists will received include an honorary certificate for their achievment.

The winner will receive

  • a trophy
  • a “$3,000 travel credit”, in collaboration with Voyage Select from Laval (Quebec), applicable on the destination of your choice.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Canadian Exporter, of the year award Business Category, you must be a active Canadian farming and/or food processing business active in the export field.

Trading houses and companies in the service and distribution sectors are not eligible.

Description


The Canada Brand Award is designed to recognize companies who strive to live the Canada Brand for food and agriculture. The Canada brand developed by Canada’s agri-food sector in partnership with federal and provincial government and has set standards / or:

  • Quality
  • Health measures
  • Environemental protection

 

Finalists will received include an honorary certificate for their achievment.

The winner will receive

  • a trophy
  • a “$3,000 travel credit”, in collaboration with Voyage Select from Laval (Quebec), applicable on the destination of your choice.

Eligibility

To be eligible in the category Canada Brand Award, you must be a Canadian agriculture or food business and be actively exporting.
Service providers, distributors and trading houses are not eligible for this award.

Your product must be considered Canadian: that is, your company’s product must be grown, harvested or processed and packaged in Canada such that the product has undergone a change that is significant enough to warrant a change in its Harmonization System (HS) Code. The HS system is an international method for classifying products and their corresponding rates for trading purposes.

Québec Prize of excellence for agri-food Export

Description

The Prix d’excellence à l’exportation alimentaire du Québec is awarded by the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation to a Québec food exporter with exceptional achievements in the agriculture and fisheries or food processing sector.

The following aspects are taken into account:

  • the applicant’s professional expertise
  • the applicant’s personal achievements and their impact on the company or the sector of activity
  • the applicant’s personal export vision and philosophy and his/her involvement in the export community.

Candidates will be rated on their record of achievement and not on the company’s sales figures.

Applications will be evaluated by a jury of people recognized by the industry and the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation.

The winner will receive a:

  • $3000 cash award
  • A trophy
  • A Certificate
